Founded and directed by former King’s Singer, Nigel Short, Tenebrae is a professional chamber choir of 12 voices. Their backgrounds include renowned choirs such as those of King’s College Cambridge, Westminster Abbey and St. Paul’s Cathedral and such revered opera companies as English National Opera and the Royal Opera, Covent Garden.

Performed in the beautiful setting of St. John’s Church, Pembroke, the concerts
will soak in the ambiance of the building as the choir intersperses to great dramatic effect, Renaissance choral works, Mediaeval chants and English folk songs with contemporary compositions from Tavener to the Beatles.

TUESDAY 12TH FEBRUARY
The performance is entitled English Song and will
include works by, amongst others, Tallis, Hubert Parry,
Rodney Bennett, Vaughn Williams, Elgar and Lennon &
McCartney.

WEDNESDAY 13TH FEBRUARY
The performance entitled Across the Channel and Back
has a European flavour including works by Poulenc,
Lassus, Wagner, Duruflé, Schubert and more.
